As I look out my window I can't help but notice that the weather is cold and wet, which makes sense because I have to coach soccer tonight. My 10 year old son has been playing twice a years since he was 4 so signing him up was a no-brainer. However what I did not count on was the absence of a head coach. After about 3 desperate emails from the organizers, threatening that the team would cease to exist if I did not volunteer, I reluctantly agreed. So here I sit, a woman who has never played soccer herself, riding herd on 11 8-10 year old boys for twice a week games. So wish me luck and keep those fingers and toes crossed for the Flying Squirrels Boys Soccer Team!
